LiFePO₄ (Lithium Iron Phosphate) is one of the safest and longest-lasting lithium battery technologies, and has become the industry standard for energy storage, electric transportation, and backup power systems. LiFePO₄ cells provide stable operation, high cycle stability, and thermal safety, making them an ideal choice for critical projects.
Why LiFePO₄?
Unlike other lithium chemistries, LiFePO₄ has a number of unique advantages:
- Safety – chemically stable cathode material is not prone to thermal runaway (overheating with ignition) even when damaged or overcharged.
- Durability – up to 8,000 charge-discharge cycles and more, which is 3-5 times longer than conventional lithium-ion batteries.
- Stable voltage – nominal voltage of 3.2 V with a flat discharge curve that ensures predictable device operation.
- Wide temperature range – discharge operation at temperatures up to –30 °C, charge at 0…+60 °C.
- Environmental friendliness – do not contain toxic heavy metals (cobalt), are safer for the environment.
